Hello and welcome to the first edition of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Russo of the year. Granted this is September and we’re nearly at the end of the year, but better late than never right!?
In case you’re a new reader of Wrestling Rambles, “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Russo” is essentially a fantasy booking column where we take a subject and book it, or re-book it as the case may be.. The two previous installments saw us book the revival of the nWo (admittedly hit and miss) and an epic rebooking of the Invasion (which, in this humble writers opinion, is far superior to anything that Vince Russo and Jim Cornette came up with in the Kayfabe Commentaries “Guest Booker” series).
Anyway, on to current matters. Someone (Ray) got in touch with us a couple of months ago and suggested that we turn attentions to a new project: Wrestlemania 30. This was a massive task, and when faced with a challenge you turn to your friends: you turn to the Jockstaps (and in joke that I think about three people will get). For such a task we need a mind at work, unfortunately the best we could come up with was a slightly drunk Intellectual Savior of Dundee: The Man Simply Known As George. To those who don’t know, George is a fantastic writer who was the author of the “From Across The Pond” series of articles and has written for several wrestling sites and also has the dubious honor of being my co-host on Wrestling Rambles’ exclusive “Rambling Matters” podcast.
Anyway, enough of me putting ourselves over, this isn’t a Hulk Hogan promo BROTHER (or anything TNA related for that matter). We take the book from after Money In The Bank (when we recorded this, so our path to Wrestlemania 30 has already diverged from reality). George and I sit down for a couple of hours and direct the WWE to their marquee show, complete with a couple of dark matches (yes, we went into that much detail for this folks). It’s an enjoyable show ladies and gents, so check it out!
Oh, if you’ll indulge me I’d also like to offer a few cheap plugs! You can follow myself on twitter at @MichaelBrown_91, George on twitter at @George_SLTD and our humble little podcast on twitter at @RamblingMatters.
Ta Ta For Now!
